The Kitchen Master

Saturday morning on October 20th was cold and windy at the Naperville River Walk, but the inclement weather couldn’t stop the hundreds of bundled up participants and the dozens of hardy dogs of every size and breed from gathering for to help a great cause. Everyone had a great time while showing their support the work done by Canine Companions for Independence.

The Kitchen Master is proud to be an active supporter of CCI and a sponsor for this year’s DogFest fundraising event. We look forward building a long-term relationship with CCI in all its’ endeavors and especially to help expand the new program of providing assistance dogs to returning members of our military.

Helpful Donations to a Great Cause

More than $28,000 was raised in Illinois, as members from the many fundraising teams walked together around the beautiful River Walk to fulfill the donation pledges from their many supporters. The walkers were guided by many of the local Canine Companion dogs and also tugged along by their own dogs.

The event was highlighted by demonstrations of some of the amazing skills that these great assistance dogs use every day to make the lives of the people they are provided to easier and more fulfilling. The Kitchen Master team hopes to help make next years’ DogFest even more successful, but we’re also keeping our fingers crossed for a much more pleasant fall day in 2015.
