Our Favorite Bathroom Makeovers Have Different Personalities

The Kitchen Master

Today’s best bathroom makeovers follow no formulas. In fact, today’s best designers are as apt to break a few rules as they are to subscribe to old familiar strains when it comes to “acceptable” style.

There are, of course, considerations of function, budget and good taste. But, beyond that, this is a time — and a room — that calls for a personal expression and a creative hand.

Our designers have recently completed some stunning new bathroom installations for Chicago area customers.

Here is a sampling of our favorites:

Unexpected Sizzle

In a spacious, understated transitional bathroom by Adam Hartig, there are some unexpected touches that lift it out of the ordinary. The first is a sleek, freestanding, sculptural soaking tub angled into a spot adjacent to the expansive glass-walled shower stall. It features a view to the outside world by day, but will feel luxuriously private when in use, nestled into a space that includes bathing supplies and fluffy towels at the ready on a light-as-air turquoise etagere.

The rest of the private space is appealing with white-painted cabinets, neutral tile, beautifully-grained granite, dual undermount vanities, sparkling faucets and attractive lighting. A note of color in a plush area rug anchors and brightens the space, adding to its appeal as a hardworking and thoroughly pleasing master retreat.

Filled With Modern Features

A stunning modern bathroom in Naperville was designed to be bold and beautiful. It exhibits stability and understated elegance of form, projects an upscale aura and features a rich personality, from its espresso cabinetry to the gleaming white shower wall, from abundant light and white accents to a measured use of understated metals and clear glass accessories.

Bath designer Joseph Kiselyk served up contrast with a sure hand, evidenced by swirling mocha-toned granite and a barely-there color on floor tile. All the accents are controlled and totally appropriate: Strictly functional fixtures, the towel warmer that doubles as wall art, a corner window installation that is equal parts subtle and dramatic, and the huge shower that becomes the room’s focal point.

Framed mirrors are balanced and enhanced by a trio of artistic wall sconces, and an almost industrial-looking storage cabinet is counterpoint to the “over-the-top” multiple spray shower. This is artful bath design at its finest, and it’s sure to serve its owners perfectly for many years to come.

Drama for Small Spaces

Great baths don’t have to be large. In fact, some of the best bath remodeling designs are forged to fit small spaces. Creativity knows no boundaries, and our designers are as creative with small powder rooms as with master spas. Family baths should be style leaders too, because they serve different age groups and must function virtually non-stop to meet the needs of busy families.

Whether you yearn for cabinetry that looks like fine furniture, adore above-counter vessel sinks, want to make bath time wonderful for growing children, or need creative storage solutions to corral the clutter, our professional team that includes Hartig, Kiselyk and Jennifer Turner will assist you to find your perfect expression. Why not contact us today to schedule a meeting. Let’s get started on your bathroom renovation.
