Expanded Transitional Kitchen

For most families, the dining room is used only a couple of times a year. This Downers Grove client not only wanted to improve their kitchen, they wanted to learn how to reclaim a large space in their home that is rarely used. The non-load bearing wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room was recommended to be removed. Combining the two spaces the owner was able to enjoy an open floor plan with multiple traffic patterns, a large island with seating, adequate counter space in between appliances, and improved storage solutions.
