5 Favorite Kitchen Designs from Our Photo Gallery

The Kitchen Master

Even though we don’t play favorites, we do have some favorites among the hundreds of kitchen remodels and installations we have completed for Chicago area homeowners.

We at The Kitchen Master wanted to share some of our recent projects with you, and thought you might be interested in knowing just why some kitchen renovations seem to be stellar success stories. You can read more about these projects and see before and after photos in our Gallery.

Here are the Top Five currently on our radar as winners:

#5 – Traditional Elegance with Plenty of Personal Touches

We believe it’s important to add personal touches to all of our designs. When it comes to the kitchen, this is especially important. This traditional, yet elegant kitchen remodel features enhanced storage features with plenty of personal touches making this kitchen a warm and inviting space. The client’s vase collection also takes center stage in this kitchen, adding a truly personalized touch to the space. We also love the multifunctional ovens, the wine reserve in the island and the pantry storage. Credit Joseph Kiselyk for this kitchen elegance.

#4 – Kitchen with Classic Charm and Modern Convenience in Naperville, Illinois

Designer Adam Hartig, AKBD, knocked it out of the park with this revamp and reorganization of a traditional kitchen. Not only did he help the owners improve the traffic pattern, add function and a delightful focal point, but the kitchen emerged more stylish and with more space for family togetherness than it previously had. By rearranging the flow, removing a double oven cabinet, and adding a pro-style range with a dramatic hood. This kitchen is sure to serve the needs of the family for many years to come. We love the crisp contrast of light and dark surfaces, and the great mix of materials, all anchored by a traditional wood floor.

#3 — Packing a Lot of Punch with a Transitional Design

Transitional design at its best never looks contrived, but rather melds some trendy new features with the best of the past for a seamless tribute to form and function. The owners of this medium size kitchen wanted a more stylish appearance, more storage, better form and a larger island, but they weren’t willing to sacrifice their sit-down eating space. We think you’ll agree that Designer Joseph Kiselyk, CKD, CBD, managed it all, and then some. We are especially enamored of the lighting — using recesses cans, pendants, a chandelier and supplementary under-cabinet lighting, the kitchen literally glows, all without the benefits of oversize windows or skylights! That’s quite an accomplishment.

#2 — A Mover and Shaker Kitchen in Orland Park

Forgive the play on words, but there is something so appealing about dark shaker style cabinets combined with a more traditional painted white island, granite counters, stainless steel appliances and a medium tone wood floor, we just can’t say enough about this Orland Park, Illinois, kitchen. It was in need of architectural interest and some drama when we first saw it. Adam Hartig added some glass-front cabinets and perfectly combined a variety of materials to create this stunning space!

#1 — Modern and Open to Living Space Kitchen in Naperville

What was once a smaller enclosed kitchen adjacent to a separate and seldom used dining room emerged from its redo as a dynamic multi-function, integrated room that is truly a family gathering spot and entertaining area. It’s airy, but dramatic, cozy but expansive, has state of the art appliances but still retains its comfortable character and is a perfect complement to the lifestyle of the modern family that owns the formerly traditional home. Another Hartig design, we feel this kind of kitchen has almost universal appeal!
