Your Designer Will Be Your Advisor and Partner. Our Designers are:

Ted Kawczynski
CKD, CBD, President

Since founding The Kitchen Master in 1977, Ted has fostered the growth and success of the Du Page County family-owned and operated company by remaining constant to his strong work ethic and philosophy of design. He believes in creating spaces that are extensions of each client’s own life and that the “kitchen gives us the arena for family growth, the hub of learning and loving, and the gathering place to share ours joys, sorrows, and dreams. In keeping with that understanding, Ted’s kitchen design work recognizes the importance of the intangible value of the space.

Ted has been a CKD and CBD since 1996. His work with the National Kitchen and Bath Association has included committee work in national certification test writing as well as work with the national Kitchen and Bath Industry Show. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the BKBG, the largest independent industry marketing and purchasing organization. Ted’s design work has been published in Better Homes and Gardens, Bath and Kitchen Design Ideas, other national periodicals and local newspapers. Ted relaxes by hiking, fishing, and reading.

Jennifer Turner
Senior Designer

A national design award winner, Jennifer creates living spaces that combine the aesthetics of good taste with the personal preferences and practical needs of each of her clients. With her interior design degree and many years of kitchen and bath design experience, Jennifer’s eye remains trained on the smallest details. Each room evolves through her thoughtful interpretation of the clients’ ideas. Jennifer’s work has been published in Kitchen and Bath Design Ideas magazine. When not focused on her clients’ homes, Jennifer enjoys antiquing and spending time with her family.

Joseph Kiselyk

Joseph began his professional career at The Kitchen Master in 1999. His early responsibilities allowed Joseph to gain extensive knowledge of kitchens and baths as he developed skills in both fabrication and installation. This experience gave him invaluable practical and technical knowledge that he was later able to apply as a designer. Joseph’s interior design education at the College of Du Page has expanded his unique ability to design, innovate and direct the careful implementation of distinctive one of a kind kitchens and baths. Through further study Joseph has been awarded certification in both kitchen and bath design through the National Kitchen and Bath Association.

Joseph understands the importance of a well-planned space to his client’s daily life. Each of his designs is a true reflection of his client’s personality and lifestyle. Combining his attention to detail with his varied experience and education gives Joseph the visual and technical capabilities to design functional and breathtaking kitchens and baths. When Joseph is not designing, he enjoys athletics, sporting and musical events, weightlifting, and spending time with his family and his two young daughters.

Adam Hartig

Immersed in the renovation industry his entire life, Adam hails from a family filled with designers and craftsman from across the US. Born and raised in Alaska, his background combines the classic elements of design with an innovative and diverse perspective. Adam's experience includes a progression through the ranks of his family's firm, perfecting all aspects of the remodeling process. This evolution took him from office reception to field installation to project/design management, and has influenced his work to become both practical and visionary.

Adam joined the Design Staff at The Kitchen Master in 2004 and has completed over 200 design and remodeling projects in the Western Suburbs. His work has been recognized for its beauty and functionality by both clients and design organizations. Eager to enhance his design skills, he earned Kitchen and Bathroom Certification (AKBD) from the National Kitchen and Bath Association.

Beyond his professional skills, Adam has developed a diverse education; acquiring a bachelor of the arts degree in History with concentrations in Art and Music from Lewis University in 2002. During his undergraduate years, he studied abroad on the prestigious Semester at Sea program in 1999, which allowed him to sail around the world and develop a cosmopolitan perspective for his future design career. Adam's continued love for travel has taken him to 38 countries in his lifetime, making his design palette assorted and multicultural. His talents outside the office include running, mountain climbing, and an avid passion for photography with works published on numerous travel websites. His love for live music, sailing, and cursed sports teams have made Chicago his favorite destination to call home.

Your Support Staff Will Manage Every Detail of Your Project

Judy Kawczysnki

Judy is one of the owners and our “chief cook and bottle washer”. Having worked in the business for almost as long as Ted, there isn’t much she can’t do and do well. While Judy’s primary responsibilities are accounting related, she also is the liaison and expeditor for all job order materials. Judy has been known to make even the most uncooperative delivery man tremble when she wants your order delivered on time.

Jean is our office manager. She makes things happen. Whether it is assembling a complex job folder, carefully guiding visitors to our showroom or making sure your cabinets are ordered on time, Jean is always on top of every detail. The only problem we have with Jean is trying to get her to leave the office at the end of her work day.

Claudia, our showroom manager and resident medical advisor and gardener, keeps everything in the showroom in perfect working order. Being Ted’s older sister, she also takes pride in keeping him in proper working order. As one of our showroom greeters and receptionists, Claudia does a great job of assisting our visitors and guiding them through our showroom.
